In regards to our telephone conversation we had about spamhaus, I would just like to inform you what needs to be done to remove yourself from the blacklist. First you should copy and paste the error message you received from Spamhaus in your browser. This will take you directly to the blacklist removal site from spamhaus. Once you are there you should see a list of three possible blacklist entries (SBL, PBL, XBL/CBL). It will inform you where your Ip is being blacklisted. If the IP is being blacklisted in the PBL, you will simply need to change the smtp Port settings in your mail clients, for all mail accounts sending over that blacklisted network. You will need to open your email client (e.g. Outlook) and go into your email account settings. Go to where your smtp Port is listed and change it from 25 to 587. You will also need to activate mail authentication. You should have a setting that says, "My Smtp mail server requires authentication". Choose the option where you will have to authenticate using your email user Id and password. Save these settings, and you should be able to send mail again. If you are listed in the XBL/CBL you will need to remove the IP from the CBL blacklist. To do this, you will need to click on the 'blue highlighted' letters 'CBL'. This will bring you to a new site. Simply scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click the option 'Request delisting for:IP." Your IP will be set for delisting, you will then see a confirmation notice from CBL that it will take a couple of hours for the IP to be delisted. If you are listed in the CBL I would suggest that you scan your network for any viruses. It could also be that you received an infected dynamic IP and therefore were put on the black list, but it would still be good to double check. Should you have any further questions or comments regarding this enquiry, please include the ticket number in the subject line in the format IDS- *******.
