Windsor Lions in the news - May 2005
The Riding
for the Disabled Fancy Dress Competition at the Royal Windsor Horse Show
On Thursday
the 12th May at 3.30pm at
the Royal Windsor Horse Show you will see eleven Groups from the Riding for the
Disabled Association – competing for the first prize Rosette.
The event organiser Roger Hale said ‘This year’s theme is PANTOMIMES. If previous years are anything to go by there will be some very imaginative outfits. Horses in full fancy dress garb ridden by disabled youngsters beautifully turned out make it a colourful, and delightful event.”
The Lions
Club of Windsor sponsors the event every year and each group, whether they win or
not, will receive a cheque for £100.
The funds were generated by the Lions at their recent Sponsored Obstacle Horseride held in the Great Park over the weekend of the 30th April, 1st May – when £60,000 was raised.
