Horseride presentation evening

AND COUNTING'
Over
thirty years of the Sponsored Obstacle Horseride in the great park
Windsor and this is the tally. Mark Fraser the co - ordinator of the
event for the last few years - put it as simple as 'We raise the funds,
and then give them away to deserving causes - every element of the
labour force is a volunteer, at no cost to the event - AND we have a lot
of enjoyment in the planning, promotion, and the final presentation'.
In fact
the final, final presentation takes place on friday the 14th September
at the Guildhall, Windsor. Many riders, winners, their supporters, and
those receiving funds will be at the function which starts at 7.30 pm.
Trophies are awarded to both young and older
riders, for a whole host of categories, and approximately £17,000 will
be given to good causes.
The
Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead - Councillor Leo
Walters will present the trophies, one of which 'The Shanly Cup' will be
for the Rider and or team displaying the greatest
endeavour in the event. Michael Shanly is a sponsor of the 2007 event.
Host for
the evening will be Alaster Purchase one of the youngest Presidents of
the Lions Club of Windsor.
