Windsor Lions in the News - Sept 2007
A Tribute to Tony Fennymore......
Tony a long standing member of the Lions Club
had two quite distinct and very different hobbies. He had a great
affection for the Mycean, Minoan, period in around the Eastern
Mediterranean. His great Mentor was Sir Mortimer Wheeler the, then TV
personality on matters Archaeological.
Tony's other great interest
was Traditional Jazz and it was to that interest we paid homage on Tuesday
evening.
'Razzmajazz'
and 'So What' two excellent jazz groups entertained about 100 customers at
Francesco's Italian Restaurant in Peascod Street. In addition two excellent
female singers entertained with that lovely Ella Fitzgerald melodic touch.
The end
product in cash terms is that the club now has the opportunity to move on to
its next community initiative - Bursaries for young, talented musicians who
might come from families living on low incomes.
Mike Sells of the LC of W was the event
co-ordinator and did a masterful job. He is Chair of the Activities
Committee.

of W) gave birth to a boy Jay Anthony) on the day
