'A NEW MUSICAL INITIATIVE'
This month sees the launch of a joint initiative between the Lions Club of Windsor and Berkshire Maestros. Following a highly successful Trad Jazz evening funds will be provided as bursaries to promising youngsters showing genuine musical talent.
Alita Mills, Acting Principal of Berkshire Maestros said ‘We are very grateful for the additional funding provided by the Windsor Lions. It will help and encourage young people to discover the fun and pleasure in making music.’
Simon
Phillips of the Lions said that ‘The Fennymore Music Trust is here to help
financially disadvantaged children in the Windsor area benefit from music
teaching. The Trust is to honour the life of Lion Tony Fennymore, who passed
away this year. Tony had a huge love of music, Jazz in particular, and was a
committed supporter of all the charitable work the Lions undertake’
