Raising money through the art of golf, what could be better....... Previous events have raised in excess of £50,000 for great causes.
Windsor Lions Club held it's 12th annual golf day at Burnham Beeches
Golf Club, a prestigious 18 Hole course over 6500 yards.
The day consists of
an 18 Hole Stableford Competition for teams of 4 players,
of which the best 3 scores will count on each hole.
The number of teams is limited to 24 and may consist of both male and female
golfers or a combination of both.
*The cost of the competition, including buffet lunch and 3 course dinner in the
evening (when prizes will be presented) is £75 per person.
As a condition of entry, players will be expected to be sponsored for a minimum
of £15 per person to go to charity.
In addition
and in order to boost the charity proceeds, whilst injecting a little fun, there
will again run concurrently a forfeit competition in which the winning team (i.e.
the team that has contributed the most) will receive 1/5 of the contributions
as a prize, the remaining 4/5 going to the charity.
This works as follows:
Only 5 points team total on any hole donates £2 to the fund by the team
Only 4 points team total on any hole donates £4 to the fund
3 points or less team total on any hole donates £6 to the fund
(The captain of each team is responsible for collecting all funds)
Prizes will be given for winners and runners-up and special holes plus the most
sponsored golfer.
This year we will be holding a short Auction at the end of the evening in order
to boost funds for our selected charities.
