Every week in the UK, at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die due to undiagnosed heart conditions.

Windsor Lions are teaming up with CRY, a UK national charity working to prevent these sudden deaths through awareness, screening and research.  CRY’s screening programme indicates that 1 in 300 people aged under 35 have a potentially life-threatening heart condition that needs further investigation.

FAQs

How do I register?

The event is now live and bookings are available through www.testmyheart.org.uk with booking access upon request.

Booking details have been sent to schools and clubs within our Windsor Lions area (Windsor, Ascot, Datchet, Dorney, Eton, Horton, Old Windsor, Sunningdale, Sunninghill and Wraysbury). If you have not received information from your school or club, please contact your school or club, or email us at info@windsorlions.co.uk

Is there a charge?

Each test costs the Windsor Lions approximately £85, but whilst we don’t charge for the test – we strongly encourage a donation so we can continue to support our other work in the community. Donate Here via SumUp.

How old do I have to be to qualify for a test?

We are inviting people aged between 14 and 35 to book a test. Booking is essential as places are limited to 100 and must be pre-booked using the link above.

How does it work?

The attendees will receive a painless, non-invasive ECG test which records electrical activity in the heart.  Sometimes more tests may be needed.  All tests will be undertaken by one of CRY’s doctors and most people will get their results on the screening day.

Who funds this?

This event is proudly funded by Windsor Lions, thanks to the generosity of our local community and the success of our ongoing fundraising efforts. We are especially grateful for the legacy gift from Lion Marilyn Rolfe, whose wish was for her donation to support a youth-focused initiative, an enduring testament to her commitment to young people and the values of Lions.
